Love is Sweet!

Edible favours are still the most popular amongst party planners: from colour-themed candy tables to fancy cookies, guests are leaving with something sweet to remember your perfect day. Check out the favour boards for inspiration and don't forget that I create custom tags, bags and bag toppers to complement your theme!

Be sure to check out the store "Solutions" where I found a good selection of large glass jars, scoops and favour boxes and bags. The store in Ottawa is at the Trainyards.

Real Weddings: Kellye & Sean

Sean & Kellye are officially husband and wife after a beautiful celebration on Lake Huron in Kincardine. Although they planned for an outdoor rock garden ceremony, the winds, rain and cold were just wild (see picture taken from inside the pavilion), so the entire evening took place in the Beach Pavilion overlooking the water. (And this was no disappointing alternative.)

Everything was perfect...and I mean perfect! Every detail was taken into consideration and their theme colours of bright blue and deep purple were reflected in every aspect of the evening (the orchids, the sand ceremony, the linens, the cake and the stationery of course!) Click on the above wedding inspiration boards to check out their details more closely.

There is nothing better than providing transportation from the hotel to the venue for your guests. You are ensuring that they will stay and have a great time, leaving no one to drive at the end of the evening. Open bars always help this situation as well (thanks S & K!)

It is not too often that you see black linens being used at weddings, but it just went so well with their colours. I loved the blue satin material draped as ribbons behind each guests dinner chair. I also really liked how they tied the same blue satin material on the ceremony chairs along the aisle with a few sprigs of dendrobium orchids hanging down. Just stunning!

But, just when I thought that there is nothing my little iPhone can't do, I realize that the camera is not all that fantastic at all; however, if we didn't have it and all it's GPS wonder, we might not have even made it from Ottawa!!! So enjoy these pictures anyway - I hope they inspire you with your planning!

Happy 9-02-10 Day!

FUN! Thanks Katie for the lovely wake-up text this morning reminding me to celebrate this once in a lifetime day. In honour of this special day, enjoy these pics of Donna & David's wedding and the most gorgeous prom dresses you've ever seen.

I was actually surprised that Donna's dress and her bridesmaids are really not all that outrageous...I do still love the lilac, but the style is another story. Oh an the thick choker gives quite a lovely touch, wouldn't you say?!

Anyway, cherish your inner Kelly, Donna, Andrea, Brenda (or Valerie!) today.

Pretty Shoes by Lela Rose

How cute are these little gems? Bride-to-be Leslie brought them by for me to check out this morning, so of course I had a little photo shoot with them! These are the shoes that her bridesmaids will be wearing with their knee length grey J Crew, strapless dresses...they are going to look so hot! (I believe it is the "Taryn" dress above, but will double check). What an incredible colour combination too. She has really kept with her theme since the invitations.

Anyway, the shoes are designed by Lela Rose and are actually made exclusively for Payless...yes seriously. The catch is that they are only available to residents of the United States, so call your long lost relatives and see how they feel about becoming your new shipping address! The shoes above were less than $50 - amazing! What a find. Thanks for sharing Leslie.

Edible Favours

You know how much I love edible, or home-made favours, such as jams, spreads and chocolates or cookies. Well check out these super cute favour tags that would add the perfect touch of formality and fun!

Sayings can include: Spread the Love, Eat Me, Love is Sweet, From our kitchen to your tummy...(if you know of any more let me know!)

I've got a stamp here that I use when sending out home-made gifts at Christmas that reads: "A little yummy for your tummy" ... I'll have to create a few samples with this one I think! I'll keep you posted...

Favour Tags & Cards

It's been very busy here the past few weeks with many couples counting down to the BIG DAY and looking for some last minute stationery (ie: favour tags, programs, menus and table numbers, Thank You cards for shower and wedding gifts alike)...and I'm thrilled about it! I love the creative aspect of these pieces.

Check out what I've been working on above and I'll keep posting as I complete projects here and there. Don't forget to contact me if you're in need of any last minute items (a week may just be enough in some cases!)

Best wishes to all the special couples out there - don't forget to take nice deep yoga breaths
